fire flowers Small Print (Postcard) Collection
A collection of 5 assorted prints (suitable for framing or posting). Offset print.
about this collection:The diverse Protea plants are at home in the southern hemisphere. They were already found on the supercontinent Gondwana and are over 90 million years old. The Protea have adapted to the harsh environment in their distribution areas, where forest fires are frequent. While fire destroys them, it also stimulates the release of their fire-resistant seeds. Ashes are the perfect breeding ground: just like the Pheonix, they are reborn through fire.
Protea plants are especially vulnerable to habitat destruction and severely affected by climate change. It would be so sad to lose these beautiful fireworks of nature!
